On the rich farmlands at the foot of the Sourland Mountains sits New Jersey's first farm distillery since Prohibition. Founded in 2015, Sourland Mountain Spirits distills the essence of The Garden State into their award-winning gin, vodka, and bourbon. Founded by Ray Disch, a Hopewell local for over 30 years, our rustic distillery is surrounded by Double Brook Farm. The Distillery is family-owned and operated by Ray, his wife Erica, and their son Sage.
A Sustainable Farm in the Sourland Mountains
The history of the Sourland Mountains make a perfect place for a distillery. It's a region rich with tales from bootleggers, rebels, and craftsmen. The distillery is located in a renovated dairy barn that previously spent decades vacant. While the barn was being remodeled, Ray and his wife Erica traveled to Hungary to obtain the state of the art stills used to create all of our spirits. Their first product was released in March of 2017. Years later, we're carried over 500 bars, restaurants, and liquor stores across the garden state.
